Hey y’all! I cannot believe August is almost here. My birthday month!
I know, you are wondering what to get me (I’m sure you were!!!!), and honestly your support would make a huge difference as I’m still crawling up the financial ladder. There are lots of ways to pitch in:
If you can, buy a subscription to The Scriptorium!
My ‘zon wishlist for dry-goods and household stuff!
Direct financial support can be given via my My GoFundMe campaign, my ko-fi page, or even paypal.
Thank you so much for the support so many of you have already given me! I’m working hard to make sure this uphill climb doesn’t end until I get to the top!
Recap
Not as much to share this week, but more coming up soon!
I just recorded a guest spot on Dan Kenner’s The Casual Author podcast which will be going out in late August. I’ll keep you posted! It was a great convo all about discovery writing.
The Queen’s Aerie is out in print! The story was serialized last year and the ebook released earlier this month, but now it is available in PAPERBACK at most major distributors!
Throwback: This post from a year ago (!!!!) is one of my favorites, but did not get much traction at the time. Please check it out and tell me: What is your true-life canon-divergence time-travel AU fix-it????
The Lost City (Dragon’s Grail Arc 2): New episode is up! This is being updated weekly.
The fanfic continues! I’m still working on this as my “fun escapist hobby” and enjoying it immensely! It is a WIP and is in the 陈情令 | The Untamed (TV) / 魔道祖师-墨香铜臭 | Módào Zǔshī - Mòxiāng Tóngxiù fandom. The Bastards of Yunmeng is all about the three kids of the Yunmeng Jiang sect after they get thrown out into the streets as children! (Yeah that’s right!)
Writing
So much fanfic! WHEEEEE!!!!
Okay, that’s fun as hell, but it won’t pay the bills. Life is so unfair!
However it’s giving more insight into my writing process, which we all know is an ongoing journey, right? As I was writing a scene in the fanfic, I realized that I was visualizing the characters journeying through the jianghu from one point to another. That mental reference made writing the scene easier for me.
Now, I’ve always loved fantasy maps and have toyed with making them for my stories many time over the years. But this insight made me realize that I actually need a map for Transmigrated Teri. I need to know where the major players are, relative to each other, in physical space. I can’t explain why this is important (I’ll write a post about it when I do!) but for now, if you are curious, check out the WIP map for The Allisar Fireborn Chronicles on my fave mapmaking app, Inkarnate!
It’s a Keely-Boo World
Keely continues to do well! If you read last week’s update, you know the backstory of her health scare and why I’ve been walking on eggshells for a couple of months. I have not used any diapers on her for the past few nights and everything seems to be working properly, thankfully. It means I have a bunch of diapers on hand for the future, which I suspect I’ll need as she continues getting older (better than the alternative, as they say, but oh! How I wish I could just freeze her in time forever more!).
Here she is looking expectantly at me from the grand perch of my rebounder:
Thanks for reading Keely’s Way!
