It continues to be July. I’m still amazed by the fact we have well and truly crossed the Rubicon halfway mark for the year. Whaaaaaaat?
Recap
I’m in a “pause” for my fiction stories right now. Dragon’s Grail arc 2, The Lost City, begins posting later this week though! And I’m almost at the point of restarting posting for Transmigrated Teri too. In the meantime:
Grieving Futures is wrapped on Patience & Fortitude!!!!!!!!! The final chapter of Grieving Futures: Surviving the Deaths of My Parents is “The Happy Ending” which is, I think, actually a fairly upbeat sign off. It’s also short, so there’s that.
The teaser for Dragon’s Grail arc 2, The Lost City, has been posted. The story launches on Ream tomorrow! It will only be available for subscribers at this point; I’ll start posting free chapters for followers in August.
Do you follow me on instagram? You should! I post my #CoffeeWithKimBoo shorts there (as well as on YouTube) and most importantly, regular photos of Keely!!! My tag for her is #JustKeelyThings.
This isn’t about me, it’s for YOU: Please consider following and supporting the artist Sarah Jolley who does the amazing, long-running webcomic The Property of Hate. Her work is profound as well as entertaining, and I tell anyone who listens that this story is a modern classic. A epic tale for the ages.
Help Request Continues!
My GoFundMe campaign is ongoing! Please chip in if you can to help me stay housed and continue to grow my writing business!
If you would like to help more directly, here are wish lists for both me and Keely on ‘zon:
Other ways to help are to buy a subscription to this blog, buy my books, and/or subscribe to my fiction platform on Ream!
Writing
Still chugging through Transmigrated Teri, and learning more about the character as I go. When I start a story, I usually just have a broad brush stroke of understanding about the main characters, a few details here and there, and a possible character arc in mind. What I have to do is write the story to figure out who that person is, and often that doesn’t happen until after about 10k words.
Teri has been tough because while in some aspects I understand her motivations entirely, in others they have been a complete mystery to me. I enjoy figuring these things out as I go, but it’s super aggravating sometimes!
It’s a Keely-Boo World
We’re still hiding from the sun and the heat index around here! Which means our evening walks happen after 8pm, since the heat index is usually still over 100°F until then. UGH.
Keely is also experiencing a tiny bit of “lady leakage” so I’ve started putting her in doggy diapers.
She has never worn clothes before, and she’s not happy about it. The first couple of days she walked around like she had a wedgie…which, to be far, she sorta did. Those diapers are very well padded! This is her opinion of them in general:
Thanks for reading Keely’s Way!
