Welcome to the new weekly update! People keep asking me what I’m up to, so I figured I should probably talk about that. Something marketing something something….
Long time followers know that for a few years I ran a daily “slice of life” blog on my personal website called “Keely’s Way.” It was meant to be a regular writing practice more than anything, as I felt I had neglected my writing for so long. But came 2023 and I had a lot else on my plate, so a daily blog was too much to sustain.
I’ve decided to carry over the spirit of that blog in this new sub-newsletter at the Scriptorium, which will post weekly on Saturdays. You can unsubscribe from this section in your settings (link is to a how-to guide).
Urgent Help Request!!!
Big news is that I launched my GoFundMe campaign. I’ve been waffling on it for a while, as I see that my author career is really beginning to take off. More sales coming in, more name recognition, and more social media traction means that income is rising!
But…slowly. So, I’m asking for help from you, my readers, friends, and family!
If you want to just buy Keely some food (thank you!) or you’d rather buy me things I need directly, I have links to a couple of ‘zon wishlists at the bottom of the page. Anything you can do to help is appreciated!
Writing
I’m mostly dividing time between Dragon’s Grail and Transmigrated Teri, but I’m still struggling to find time to sit down and actually write. The financial situation means that my brain wants to focus on “work” like podcasts, social media posting, and all the background admin that being a self-published author entails!!!!
It’s wild to me that The Queen’s Aerie is nearly done posting. The full book was released to subscribers on Ream earlier this year, but the free chapters won’t be done posting until mid-May. Then time to format the book and release it for sale!!!!!
Keely & Co.
Was going through some older folders and found a photo that just called out for a then/now treatment. Behold!
Sundries
Personal goals include working out more consistently as my fitness levels are in the pits. I’ve got a nice rebounder (mini trampoline) so I don’t even have to go outside! Which is good, because between the controlled burns, the wild fires, and the raging pollen counts, the great outdoors is greatly annoying.
In other news, the prediction for the 2024 hurricane season (which starts officially on June 1st) is that it is going to be record breaking. Mind, the number of storms is only important since it increases the likelihood of a serious storm making landfall. Wheeeee.
Hold on and hang in!
