Short answer: I’m spending a lot of time spreading myself around as I gear up the re-launching of my career as a fiction author. There is my House of York author platform, and there is this-here substack, and reddit, and tumblr (lordt I need to update that, eek). I’m duplicating some content across the channels, and I’m sure your eyes are already glazing over as I explain this, but the truth is I’m a one-woman shop and I need to k.i.s.s. as I push my wares out into the world.
I’m almost at the point of starting to republish the first episode of Dragon’s Grail, which is the revamped Escape from Ice Mountain story that kicks off Astra’s great trek across the world with [redacted] in order to return [redacted] and possibly, eventually, see a fire dragon of the far north…
I’m already publishing The Queen’s Aerie, my MMF fantasy romance, with early access chapters on my author platform and free public chapters sent out on Wattpad and, possibly, RoyalRoad.
I’ve also started writing the next Cooper West story, a Guardsmen book that is set not long after the main events in Parker’s Sanctuary. I already know you’ll love Brett “the vet tech” Bakeman, a former high school jock with a secret bigger than his extended family…
I think I’ll also actually finish that one-off, Too Fine, a M/F (het) story that I started as an experiment and posted on Wattpad for kicks. Then the pandemic happened and well, it got lost in the shuffle. I was kicking ideas around on ChatGPT and got a few good options on where the next scene can go, so now I’m a bit more jazzed about writing it. Het romance is not my usual thing so I don’t plan on marketing it, but it’s got some followers and I’d feel bad about just flat pulling it down.
....ooof! My dance card is FULL!
