Catalyst
Compassion requires that we set aside punitive thinking and replace it with efforts to truly connect and understand.
Insight
It’s easy to fall into the habit of condemning what we don’t understand or disapprove of, but judgment rarely leads to change. True growth and healing—for others and for ourselves—comes from compassion. Condemnation never heals. Compassion does.
Compassion allows us to see beyond mistakes and focus on solutions. It doesn’t mean excusing harmful actions, but it does mean choosing to build others up rather than tear them down. The truth is, healing through compassion often transforms us as much as it does the person we’re helping.
Reflection
Think of a person or situation you’ve judged recently. What could compassion bring to this interaction or relationship today?
