‟Fortitude is the capacity to say no when the world wants to hear yes.” ~ Erich Fromm
Insight
True strength is not always loud or dramatic. Sometimes, it is found in being firm in your values and boundaries, even when it is uncomfortable. Saying no when others expect you to say yes requires fortitude. It is standing in what you know to be right, even when it might cost you approval or convenience.
This kind of strength does not waver under outside pressure, because it is grounded in self-respect and clarity. Fortitude is what allows you to stay true to yourself, even in the face of resistance.
Reflection
Where in your life do you need to say no to something, even if doing so feels difficult? How can you draw on fortitude to stand by that decision?
