‟One's life has value so long as one attributes value to the life of others, by means of love, friendship, indignation and compassion.” ~ Simone de Beauvoir
Insight
Your life gains meaning when you invest in others. Love, kindness, and even anger over injustice create connections that make life richer and more purposeful. Compassion isn’t simply about soft-hearted gestures; it’s also expressed in your courage to fight for another person’s dignity, equality, or happiness.
It’s easy to drift into self-absorption, especially when surrounded by distractions. However, every effort to uphold and honor others’ value—whether through friendship, family, or stranger-kindness—brings a sense of fulfillment no form of isolation or selfishness can give. Compassion compels us to live in a deeper, more meaningful way.
